AIEA Staff

Clare Overmann

CEO

Clare Overmann is the Chief Executive Officer of the Association of International Education Administrators (AIEA), the professional association for international education leadership. In this role, she oversees the strategic direction and growth of the 700+ member organization. Prior to AIEA, Clare served as a senior leader at the Institute of International Education (IIE), leading the organization’s strategic engagement, member associations, major U.S. government-funded programs, and corporate external affairs. Within this portfolio, she also led the growth and transformation of IIE’s Center for International Partnerships. Clare studied abroad in South Korea and Chile, and started her career in the petrochemical industry in The Netherlands. Clare holds degrees from Georgetown University and New York University’s Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development.

Katy Rosenbaum

Senior Director, Strategic Engagement & Operations

Katy Rosenbaum is Sr. Director of Strategic Engagement and Operations at AIEA, where she has worked in various capacities since 2013. Katy holds a Master in International Studies with a focus on international higher education from North Carolina State University and an undergraduate degree in history from Agnes Scott College. She spent over four years in Morocco, first as a rural health education Peace Corps volunteer and then creating and facilitating short-term study abroad programs as Project Manager at Morocco Exchange, in addition to holding previous positions in public health community outreach. She is passionate about social justice issues, the ethics of internationalization, and decolonizing higher education.

Leydi Lucas

Senior Manager of Membership Operations & Engagement

Leydi Lucas is the Senior Manager of Membership Operations and Engagement at AIEA. Her background includes several years in K–12 education, where she held both administrative and instructional roles. As an immigrant and native Spanish speaker, Leydi offers a valuable linguistic and cultural perspective that enhances the organization’s commitment to inclusivity. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Arizona Global Campus and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Training and Development from North Carolina State University. Leydi is committed to advancing equitable and accessible education and continuously developing her skills to better support diverse educational communities.

Hannah Galatoire

Association Manager

Hannah Galatoire is based in Washington DC as the Association Manager at AIEA. After spending her childhood attending different international schools around the world, she has spent the past several years continuing to pursue this passion for international education through her professional career by working at the English Speaking Union Chile and, most recently, the Institute of International Education (IIE). Hannah holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of St Andrews in Scotland in International Relations and Spanish. She is passionate about event planning, international academic partnerships, and promoting access to international education.

Ashley Kruse

Director of Marketing & Communications

Ashley Kruse is the Director of Marketing and Communications at AIEA. Her background includes over a decade of experience in the creative field, driving strategic branding and marketing initiatives for companies and clients across industries. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design from Florida State University where she spent a transformative semester abroad exploring Europe from FSU’s London campus. Thanks to parents who encouraged travel and wanderlust from a young age, she’s passionate about exploring new cultures, fostering connections, and finding commonalities in a diverse world.

Erin Dolan

Program Support Assistant

Erin Dolan is the Program Support Assistant at AIEA. Erin’s passion for international education sparked during her semester abroad in Sevilla, Spain. She studied Environmental Biology at Christopher Newport University and holds a Master in Higher Education Administration Leadership from William Paterson University. Erin has worked in international and higher education, hoping to help create equal opportunities and access for all. Erin enjoys traveling, learning new things, delicious food, and spending time at the beach.
