AIEA Thematic Forum JMU

Global operations are crucial to the success of comprehensive internationalization. Senior International Officers (SIOs) must possess the knowledge and skills to understand, manage, and sustain global operations, adapt to rapid worldwide changes, and advocate for these operations at campus, state, and national levels. This Thematic Forum aims to equip international education leaders with best practices for managing various global operations projects and activities, including overseeing oversea centers and sites, developing dual/joint degrees with international institutions, and hiring in-country recruitment representatives.

Key Questions Addressed in the Forum:

  • How can SIOs develop strategic overviews of global operations?
  • What are the best practices for managing various global operations?
  • How can SIOs understand and track regulations, risk management, compliance, finance and budgeting, and labor laws in global operations?
  • What are the current and future opportunities and challenges in global operations for international education leaders?
