AIEA Member Town Hall: From Anxiety to Action

Across U.S. campuses, international students are experiencing rising anxiety related to visa uncertainty, immigration enforcement concerns, geopolitical tensions, and campus political pressures. At the same time, institutions must navigate legal obligations, student safety, freedom of expression, and internal communication challenges.

Join us at our next AIEA Member Town Hall that will provide a practical and strategy-focused forum for international education leaders to examine how the current political, legal, and policy environment is affecting international students, and what institutional leaders must do now to respond.

This session will focus on institutional readiness and leadership decision-making, including:

• Communication strategies during periods of uncertainty
• Coordination with campus counsel and senior leadership
• Response protocols if enforcement actions or crises occur
• Supporting student wellbeing while managing institutional risk
• Addressing staff capacity and emotional labor in international offices
